THE CONCERT OF THE MUTE GUITAR

The Concert of the Mute Guitar reflects on existence and coexistence. Stripped of its sound, the guitar becomes a silent object, placed within a synthetic landscape of imagination, where I interact with it as a textile artist. The project raises a question: does taking away an object’s main function mean it ceases to exist in its true form?

At the core of the installation are discarded textile scraps, given new life instead of being thrown away. The guitar, with its interwoven strings, pushes the artist into the background, even though he holds it in his hands. Next to it, a leafless birch stands still—suffocated, yet present. In the background, textile assemblages resemble traces of something ancient and pure. The sound that accompanies it—the music of textiles—slowly drowns out the guitar’s strings.
