LIGHT AS A SITUATION

Light as a Situation is an exhibition that explores light and its co-relation, based on a thorough exploration of fabric properties and light. The first section of the exhibition represents a convergence of artistic and engineering perspectives on light, exploring both natural daylight and artificial illumination. Installations of a bigger scale are bridging the field of textile design and architecture. Artefacts examine how the colour and texture of textiles are influenced by the light and how the relation affects the visual appearance of inner and external space at the same time. 

The second part of the exhibition revolves around the meaning of light and its strong synonymity with time. Light is around us from morning to evening – also when we struggle to shut our eyes tightly while a full moon shines in our bedroom. These situations are often so familiar to us that we typically overlook them. Therefore, Light is a Situation – an unknown act so intimate to each one that can only be spoken singularly.
